My friend and I commuted to the Manila Worldtrade Center for it’s annual Bookfair. The commute was exciting because it’s the first time we did it. No relying on drivers to get us to places!

The bookwork Elay thinking, “HUWAW, what should I buy first? Comics, classics, or food…???”

Elay, “Never mind! Anything goes!”

We went on a dazed, crazed “window-shopping spree”, and first listed the books we wanted to buy. Yup we’re such geeks that day. And since we controlled our own limited personal budgets, listing was a must. There were title overlaps (good thing for friends with similar tastes!) so we just chose who gets to buy one, and then we’ll title-trade someday.

For dinner though, my dad who was also with his office as an exhibitor in the Bookfair treated to us to a rare expensive Thai food place!

Elay…lasinggera?!

Naaaah, it’s Elay madasalin.

(Dig in!)

The food were mostly super spicy, tasty vegetarian stuff, so they’re safe to eat for a newly-turned-veggie-eater friend of mine. I loved the thai sago dessert! I’d eat in this restaurant again for the sake of that yummy sago!

Pet-nap the Chicken!

29 August, 2007

I badly wanted to petnap this bonsai fighting cock while walking to school to school one day.. Cute but deadly!

Manito in Kalayaan Avenue, Quezon City is a newly-opened gift shop, specializing in Korean rainbow awesomeness. They sell a ton of these Koreanovela fan-girling paraphernalia. This place is near Claret and Trellis restaurant if anyone’s interested in visiting them!

The seller is an authentic kikay Koreana, and along with her equally kikay Pinay shop assistant, they provide a shop mood as rainbow-colorful as the stuff they’re selling.

I got myself a new set of pastels with bunny paper wrappers. I’m still a sucker for rabbits, and anything rainbow-colorful cute XD

(A question lingers in my mind though: they sell kinda above-average National bookstore prices. Despite being in a Korean neighborhood, how long will it last in that area?)

Statistics Blinds Barbie

23 August, 2007

I was doing statistics exam cramming this morning, and Barbie merely complied with my perils against those Greek letters I couldn’t understand.

Barbie screams with me, “Stop torturing me with those numbersssss!!”

(BTW, I survived the exam)

This was a comic strip compilation I found in a Booksale somewhere Cubao. If I only had 400 pesos in my wallet right then (I DIDN’T OMG) I would’ve bought this book! Nyaaaaarrrg ang ganda pa naman ng cover! I used up most of my money to pay for eyeglasses O_O All I could take…was this picture.
